Steam Biological Indicators
AXIS Steam Biological Indicators (BIs) are specifically designed to monitor and validate the effectiveness of steam sterilization processes at 60 ± 2°C.
Each indicator contains Geobacillus stearothermophilus (ATCC® 7953™) spores, deposited on a filter paper carrier and securely enclosed within a durable plastic tube and cap.
Inside the tube, a sealed glass ampoule holds a specially formulated culture medium with a pH-sensitive color indicator, which provides a clear visual change when spore growth is detected.
